What does one wear while visiting Spa MD?
While many guests come to their spa appointments directly from work, some chose to wear casual wear that is quick and easy to slip off. While receiving a massage, or other body work, it is best to be unclothed and professionally draped at all times. Professional therapists are trained in draping and most clients are very comfortable that only the area of body they are working on is exposed. It is unacceptable for a guest or therapist to work without draping and the service may be stopped if either party is made to feel uncomfortable. The therapist will not remain in the room while guest is undressing and will leave the room at the conclusion of the service in order for guest to redress.
Is there a cellphone policy inside Spa MD?
Yes! We ask that all entering the spa, please turn their cellphones on silent, or better yet, turn it off. it is very disturbing to hear someone’s phone ring while they are there to relax and enjoy a peaceful environment. It is unacceptable to take phone calls on speaker. In an instance like this, the offender will be asked to walk outside to complete the call.

There is a 50% non-refundable deposit to reserve the spa. Many people choose to bring their own food and beverages, and that is alright. We will not supply that, nor will we supply cups, napkins, etc. That is the responsibility of the group host.

Spa MD is a Boutique Med Spa providing luxury services, but does not have saunas or pools. We do, however, have a shower available for use post service if necessary. The shower will be cleaned and sanitized after every use and fresh towels provided.
What is “Spa Etiquette?”
There is more to the spa experience than putting on a robe and slippers. You and other guests have scheduled their service hoping to relax and receive a little self-care time. In order to get the most from your spa experience keep the following in mind:
A light meal before you come is suggested. A heavy meal might make you uncomfortable and keep you from fully enjoying your visit
Drinking alcohol before your service is not recommended, as you might become too dehydrated, light headed or worse. Do drink lots of water before, during and after your spa treatment. We do offer a post treatment glass of wine . . . but limited to one glass per guest.
Don’t worry about your breath, body hair or your body size while in the spa. Rest assured that your therapist isn’t worried or judging you. This is your time for a well deserved self care session – completely judgement free. We do ask that you shower before your service if you’ve just come from the gym, yoga or other vigorous workouts. If you need a towel to wipe down after a long day at work, just simply ask your therapist.
Do arrive early and plan on hanging out a while post treatment. There is nothing worse than receiving a relaxing service and then rushing right back out the door.
Remember that you and others are at the spa with the intention to relax and refresh. That means that everyone should be aware that loud talking and other noises are not invited. Some people relax by talking during their service and that is OK, as long as it is kept in a quiet “Spa Voice.” If you would prefer a silent service, please do let your therapist know.
Each guest is given a pre-service consultation in order to learn about any medical conditions that would prevent a particular service. It is advised that you be completely honest, as we first seek to do no harm.
While Spa MD has a 24 hour cancellation policy, we understand that things happen – people get colds and flu, and children do get sick. Please be considerate and not share the bugs with us.
